The only direct diversion into the proposed pond system is the existing farm headgate
from the Boxelder Ditch, however the property has good access to a number of water sources
that make the storage volume provided by the proposed layout marketable. The Fossil Creek
Outlet and the Po~adre River are located immediately adjacent to the property. With appropriate
permission, it would be a simple task for owners of storage water to pump into the ponds. In the
case of the Fossil Creek Outlet, a diversion structure could be installed to divert water directly
into Ponds 1 or 2. Also, any storage water that can be delivered into the Boxelder Ditch
upstream of the farm, either at the decreed headgate or through some other system, can be
delivered into the ponds through the existing farm headgate. In the proposed layout, the ponds
are not distributed on the basis of use. Any of the four ponds may be used for storage of
whatever water comes into the system. An accounting method will have to be devised to keep
track of the amount and ownership of the water being stored at any given time.
T:IOPEMCodkcOllcodlcc0/,Tnn! reporl.doc 13 ANdER50N CONSU~TINC~ ENGINEERS ANC.
