The
average farm headl;ate delivery over the study period was 352.0 AF. The lagged annual replacement
of pit depletions lis~,ted in Table 4.3 is 65.2 AF. The actual CU of current irrigation is 117.2 AF, from
Table 4.1. Now, subtracting the uses from the deliveries yields 169.6 AF. Further subtracting the
CU surplus listed at the bottom of Table 4.1, 9.4 AF, yields 160.2 AF. Finally, if the difference
between the total fait depletions, 67.6 AF, and.the lagged pit depletions, 65.2 AF, is subtracted the
remainder is 157.8„ an amount equal to the historic return flow calculated in the historic use analysis.
4.4.3 Accounting Method
The replacement supply amount and timing outlined previously has been based on estimated
depletions occurring in the pit. Actual depletions may vary slightly from the numbers outlined in this
plan.. DKC will install on metering device on the ground water pump to monitor and record
extractions and use:. the accounting form approved in the 2004-2007 SWSP to track deliveries and
replacements. The accounting form will allow DKC to keep track of the year-to-date amounts of
depletions and diversions to insure that the diversions exceed the depletions at the end of each year.
5.0 CONCLUSIONS
Based upon the analyses outlined above SWE concludes the following regarding the
substitute water supply application for the Timnath Pit:
• The annual lagged ground water depletions due to mining are estimated at 65.2 AF.
• Replacement water will be supplied via lagged recharge from Boxelder CU credits diverted
into the unlined pond in the current mining phase of the Timnath Pit.
• It is requestf;d that the plan be approved for a period of two years with the option of renewal.
• The applicant will install all measurement structures necessary to administrate the plan.
• The applica~7t will maintain monthly records of water diversions and consumptive use.
C:\Projects\CODKCOI\Acimin\DKC 2006 SWSP Application.doc 14 Scott Water Engineers, LLC
