al
Ten of the Southfield samples were analyzed for the following addition
parameters:
Textural Analysis Cadmium (Cd) Manganese (Mn)
Saturation (9~) Chlorine (C1) Molybdenum (Mo)
Ammonium (N03-N) Chromium (Cr) Mercury (Hg)
Sulfide (S04) Copper (Cu) Nickel (Ni)
Arsenic (As) Fluoride (-F) Selenium (Se)
Barium (Ba) Iron (Fe) Zinc (Zn)
Boron (B) Lead (Pb)
These analyses were distributed as follows:
3 Jack O'Lantern roof samples
3 Jack O'Lantern floor samples
2 Red Arrow roof samples
2 Red Arrow floor samples
Analysis !results for roof and floor samples are presented as Table 7, Jack
O'Lantern Roof/Floor Analyses, and Table 8, Red Arrow Roof/Floor Analyses.
The following sections summarize results for specific analysis parameters
and address any potential suitability concerns. In the absence of
specific suitability guidelines for the State of Colorado, EFCI has
utilized specific requirements presented in: 1) Soils and Overburden
Guidelines, 1977, Montana Department of State Lands; 2) Guidelines 1-3,
1988, Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality; and. 3) USGS
requirements, 30CFR211.10(c)(6)(xii).
~H. A total of 20 Southfield samples were analyzed with respect to pH.
Values of pH ranged from 7.8 to 9.1 with a mean value of 8.6, indicating
moderate alkalinity. Two Red Arrow roof samples (SR-46 and SR-50) had the
1 owest pH (1.8) whi 1 e one Jack 0' Lantern roof sampl a had a pH value of
9.1.
