OF SECTION 4, TOWNSHIP 5 NORTH, RANGE 65 WEST <br />GREELEY, WELD COUNTY, COLORADO <br />TERRACON PROJECT N0.20015242 <br />JANUARY 11, 2002 <br />INTRODUCTION <br />This report contains the results of our preliminary sand and gravel mineral evaluation for an <br />approximate 29-acre parcel situated on the east side of Balsam Avenue, approximately %rmile <br />north of 8'" Street, south of the Eaton Ditch in east Greeley, Colorado. The site is generally <br />located in the North 1/4 of Section 4, Township 5 North, Range 65 West of the 6~' P.M., Vlfeld <br />County, Colorado. <br />The purpose of these services is to provide information and geotechnical engineering <br />recommendations relative to: <br />• .subsurface soil and bedrock conditions <br />• groundwater conditions <br />• physical properties and estimated quantities of overburden and granular materials. <br />The conclusions and recommendations contained in this report are based upon the results of <br />our field and laboratory ,testing, engineering 'analyses, and. experience with similar soil <br />conditions, and our understanding of the proposed project. <br />PROPOSED CONSTRUCTION <br />Based on the information provided, it is Terracon's understanding approximately 29-acres of <br />land situated on the east side of Balsam Avenue, approximately '/z mile north of 8~" Street <br />(Highway 263), south of the Eaton Ditch, presently being utilized as grazing andlor agricultural <br />property as well as for the Oil Industry, is to be considered for a future gravel pit for the mining <br />and extraction of sand and gravel reserves. <br />SITE EXPLORATION <br />The scope of the services performed for this project included a site reconnaissance by an <br />engineering geologist, a subsurtace exploration program, limited laboratory testing and <br />engineering analysis. <br />1 <br />
