1.0 INTRODUCTION
In 1989 Energy Fels Coal, Inc. contracted the services of Glenn
E. Miller, Consulting Geologist to evaluate the coal reserves to the
north of their current Southfield Mine for possible expansion. The
area was subsequently divided. into two regions, entitled Northfield
and Midfield, and will be referred to as such for this report.
The goals of this report are to present a data base of existing
information in the area, evaluate potential coal reserves and coal
quality for the Northfield Area, and locate developmental targets
within the generalized Northfield area.
This geologic report is submitted as a planning tool for future
exploration and potential mine development of the Northfield and
Midfield areas and makes no claims as to the economic mineability of
the reserves described within.
