Schreiner, Environmental Protection Specialist REC~O~~d
~ / 2 0 2006
Re: Larimer Pit, Permit # M-1974-069-- ~~N
Dear Mr. Schreiner:
Division of Minorais and Geology
In an effort to minimize the exposed water surface and the subsequent evaporative
loss, Loveland Ready Mix Concrete, Inc. has conceived a plan to drain pit #8 into
reclaimed pond #2. Ground water seepage would be intercepted by drainage ways
around the perimeter of the mined area and channeled to a culvert that naturally drains
into pond #2. The water would then drain into pond # 1 and eventually exfiltrate through
the reclaimed banks of the ponds back to the river system. The center 13 acres +/- would
then be top soiled and seeded into grass as shown on the attached sketch elevation of pit
#8.
If you judge this conceptual plan to have any merit, please advise whether we
should process a detailed plan as a technical revision or as an amendment.
Evers though the reclaimed pit #8 will be primarily grass instead of a pond the end
use of the reclamation plan will remain unchanged as recreation. All other conditions of
permit # M-1974-069AM2 will remain unchanged.
~IPry ±ruly y urs,
Ge e Ste n Fancher
Secretary/Treasurer
c.c.: Rod Harr
Landmark Engineering
