Endangered or critical species in the area <br />include the peregrine falcon but no known nesting sites were on the <br />property. 'the siting of a ringtail cat is possible. The species <br />mentioned are in very low densities and the impact to habitats and <br />species wars anticipated to be "very minimal." <br />The January 2007 DOW visit focused on the threatened and <br />endangered species identified on the US Fish and Wildlife website. The <br />January 5, 2007 report stated that the proposed activities will have no <br />impact on t:he species primarily because the site is not within the <br />geographic range of the species or the environment does not provide a <br />food or vegietation source for their habitation. <br />In the event of species displacement, the facility site is surrounded by <br />undisturbed adjacent lands for habitat establishment. <br />2.04.12 Prime Farmland Investigation <br />The applicant requests a negative determination regarding designation <br />as prime farmland at the facility location in Section 13. <br />The facility site is not used nor has historically been used as <br />cropland. <br />• The land is not irrigated or naturally subirrigated and has no <br />developed irrigation water supply that is dependable or of <br />adequate quantity to support cropland. <br />• The vvest portion of the site is very rocky, lying at the toe of a <br />mesa. <br />According to the U.S. Soil Conservation Service survey maps, the <br />site i> not designated prime farmland. <br />• <br />2.04-31 Revised 11/05/07 <br />
