CHRONOLOGICAL HISTORY OF REVEGETATION • Total areas revegetated prior to and in 2007 at the Seneca II-W Mine are shown on the attached 2007 Chronological Seeding map. SEDIMENTATION POND SURVEYS SCC is required by Permit C-82-057 to monitor sedimentation ponds for sediment storage capacities. This monitoring is conducted by physically surveying each pond each year. This schedule provides a sediment yield history and gives advanced warning to operations personnel when sediment clean out work is needed. Also, in accordance with Rule 4.05.6(11)(c), SCC visually inspects each pond, at a minimum, quarterly each year. During these inspections, any drastic change in sediment storage/sudden increase in a sediment delta at the inlet of the pond would be detected and mitigation implemented, if necessary. The results of the 2007 annual survey indicated that all ponds are within the minimum requirement for storage and are shown on Table 07.5, Sediment Pond Capacities. STOCK TANKS Stock tank T25 was partially constructed in 2007. Weather conditions in November precluded completion of construction. This stock tank will be completed in 2008. WILDLIFE MONITORING SCC contracted Jones and Stokes to conduct wildlife surveys and monitoring at the Seneca II-W mine area. • The work included: 1. Winter aerial survey for big game (February 18, 2007) 2. Monitoring of Columbian sharp-tailed grouse leks (Apri124, 2007) 3. Checking golden eagle nests for activity (Apri124, 2007) Methodologies, data and results of the big game aerial survey, eagle nest activity, and sharp-tailed grouse activity are presented in the attached 2007 Wildlife l~fonitoring Report.
