OB7GINAL -PUBLIC FILE
(Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: nn_ig9n-ins
INSPECTION DATE: ~~/~l/nR INSPECTORoS INITIALS: .-B.IL-
OBSERVATIONS
The Division conducted a monitoring inspection of the sites to be inspected during the
fiscal years 2007-208. Site is a small 110 sand and gravel operation located approximately
10 miles East of Pueblo, Colorado. Operator was contacted but was unable to attend.
Access gate to the property was locked, had to climb over the fence to inspect the site.
There was no permit sign posted at the access to the property, given the fact that some
one might have removed the sign, the fact it was not visible at the time of the inspection
will not be sited as a possible problem. The Division contacted the operator after
returning to the office and the operator's representative assured the Division the sign
was properly posted, and could have been vandalized and will place another one as soon as
possible.
As reported above, the site is a 9.9 acre 110 permit which was not active at the time of
the inspection. From what was observed on site, it appears the site might have been in
active for a few years. The only activity that could be considered mining might have been
removal of material from already stockpiled sources on site.
There were some stockpiles of what appeared to be overburden/ topsoil located along the
west side of the permit area. They were stable and no sign of severe erosion noted.
No noxious weed infestation noted.
The Division had difficulty finding some of the permit boundary markers and recommend the
operator to place an appropriate boundary marker that could be easily identified, and
provide proof of the posting of the sign and the markers as soon as possible.
However, given the inactivity on site, if the operator has no plans to mine the area,
reclamation should commence and there will be no need to post the new markers.
At present, the Division is holding a reclamation warranty in the amount of $14,500.00,
which is adequate to cover the current disturbance. However, if the current disturbance is
going to be expanded, additional warranties might be required.
18~ E Contact Address
NAME: Mrs. RONDA NEUMEISTER
OPERATOR: RBK CONSTR TION
ADDRESS P.O.BOX 387
CITY/STATE/ZIP: RyP_ C'nlnrncln Rln~9
r BL
r FS,
r HW
r HMWMD (CH)
r
r SE
r WQCD (CH)
r OTHER
cc: r CE
