~ ,!~ ~
to the north portion of the project area through trip counts with the dump trucks
coupled with cycle time verifications. Further slope reductions adjacent to the
topsoil stockpile area will be monitored with the equipment rental form.
3. Item 3 Surface Drainages - After a site visit was conducted on October 13, 1993,
surface drainages measured approximately 1,800 lf. An arbitrary figure of
$7,000.00 was set with Mike for surface drainage work which would be broken
down as follows. All 2H:1V intermittent drainages would still require the
installation of erosion control matting at the bid price of $7.12/lf. After reviewing
the site,. only 320' will exhibit 2H:1V slopes @ the bid price to total $2,278.40.
The remaining surface drainages will be a maximum 3H:1 V. These drainages will
be addressed with the drainage design as originally discussed on page 7 in the bid
document, not as described in Amendment #l. By eliminating the gravel
underlayment a negotiated price of $5.66/lf was reached for these riprap
constructed drainages using imported riprap. This would leave approximately 645'
linear feet of areas needing erosion control measures. If adequately sized riprap
is available on-site, which it is fully anticipated, then the price per linear foot of
channel construction will be further reduced. The remaining areas needing erosion
control measures will also be addressed with extra dozer- time as needed.
4. Item 4 Wetland Reconstruction -This item will be eliminated utilizing the existing
vegetated pond which apparently is working satisfactory.
5. Item 5 Equipment Rental -Mike submitted a bid using a TD20 dozer which has
a rated 190fhp. The converted hourly rate is $75.00. Item 5 will be maintained
with hours reduced to 15. At the reduced hours, this item will total $1,125.00.
6. Item 6 Revegetation - By eliminating the hay soil amendments (not the mulch but
amendments) the negotiated costs are $600/acre to total $10,200.00.
7. Item 7 Fencing - By constructing'H' braces versus comer posts set in concrete the
negotiated price for the fencing is $1.60/lf. Fencing is absolutely necessary for this
project as, in lieu of being constructed to prevent off road traffic into reclaimed
areas, fencing may be constructed above any highwalls that are left with the
reduced earthmoving. The negotiated price totals $4,720.00.
8. Item 8 Remobilization - No change (zero bid).
9. Project Completion Time - No savings can be realized by extending the time of
completion due to the issue of per diem negating any benefits.
