~ .~i <br />Design Criteria <br /> <br />Topic Design Criteria for the Proposed Action <br /> 137. Surface will be left roughened ("pocking") as part of the FS <br /> seed bed preparation. <br /> 138. Revegetation of all reclaimed areas would include <br /> reapplication of seed (and a Forest Service recommended <br /> fertilizer if necessary) and periodic watering by the <br /> operator if revegetation is unsuccessful within two <br /> growing seasons after construction is completed. <br /> 139. A seed mix palatable for both wildlife and livestock <br /> would be used for revegetation to support the post-mining <br /> land uses. <br />Reclamation Plan 140. A Reclamation Plan (reviewed by the Forest Service), DRMS <br /> submitted as part of a DRMS mine pernlit revision, prior <br /> to any construction activities, will include, but not limited <br /> to, methods, seeding species and seeding rates. <br />COMPLIANCE REQUIREMENTS <br />SMA Requirements 141. Operator shall comply with applicable requirements.of 30 CFR <br /> surface management agency (30 CFR 815.15) or 815.15 <br /> approved State program. <br />Plugging <br />Requirements 142. Bottom 50-feet of the continuously cored hole would be <br />plugged with cementations grout to prevent water from 30 CFR <br />75.1711 <br /> entering the mine following Deer Creek Shaft <br /> Construction. <br /> 143. When no longer needed for its intended use each drilled <br /> hole or borehole, wells, or other exposed underground <br /> opening shall be capped, sealed, backfilled, or otherwise <br /> properly managed, as required by the Division and <br /> consistent with 30 CFR 75.1711. Permanent closure <br /> measures shall be designed to prevent access to the mine <br /> workings by people, livestock, fish and wildlife, <br /> machinery and to keep acid or other toxic drainage from <br /> entering ground or surface waters. <br /> 144. Exploration holes, drill holes or boreholes, wells or other <br /> exposed underground openings not completed to aquifers <br /> shall be sealed by replacing cuttings or other suitable <br /> media in the hole and placing a suitable plug 10 feet <br /> below the ground surface to support a cement plug or <br /> other media to within 3 feet of the ground surface. The <br /> hole will be marked. <br /> 145.
