r <br />Design Criteria <br />Topic Design Criteria for the Proposed Action <br /> 46. Livestock access will be maintained during active BMP <br /> operations. Cattleguards and access gates to the side of <br /> each cattleguard will be installed in a timely fashion at <br /> any place where MCC uses or builds roads as directed by <br /> the District Range Management Specialist. Project <br /> personnel will cooperate with the grazing permit holders <br /> to avoid or minimize conflicts with grazing operations. <br /> 47. MCC would be required to maintain stock ponds adjacent BMP <br /> to project roads to assure their continued effective use. <br /> This would involve pond clean out on an as-needed basis <br />Roads in 48. Any approved road construction or reconstruction in BMP, <br />Inventoried Roadless that are excepted by RACR must be conducted RACR <br />Roadless in a manner that minimizes effects on surface resources, <br /> prevents urmecessary or unreasonable surface <br /> disturbance, and complies with all applicable ]ease <br /> requirements, land and resource management plan <br /> direction, regulation, and laws. Road Use <br /> Permit (FSM <br /> 49. Roads constructed or reconstructed must be obliterated 2733.04b <br /> when no longer needed for the purposes of the lease or and FSM <br />• upon termination of expiration of the lease, whichever is 7730) , <br /> sooner. RACR <br />Staging Areas 50. Staging areas will be used in a manner to minimize BMP <br /> damage ~to vegetation. Any surface disturbances to these <br /> sites would be re-graded and seeded. <br />Maintenance 51. Roads will be maintained with water bars and appropriate Road Use <br /> sedimentation controls. Water bar placement and design Permit(FSM <br /> will be approved by the authorized FS Officer. 2733.04b <br /> and FSM <br /> 7730) ,BMP <br /> 52. All use and maintenance of existing NFSRs will be FSM <br /> authorized by and be consistent with a FS Road Use 2733.04b <br /> Permit. A performance bond will be required per the and FSM <br /> terms of the road use permit. 7730 <br />WATER RESOURCES <br />Ground Water 53. Each drill or borehole, well, or other exposed BMP <br /> underground opening sealed, or otherwise managed to <br /> prevent acid or other toxic drainage from entering ground <br /> or surface waters and minimize disturbance to the <br /> prevailing hydrologic balance. <br />30 <br />
