Appendix G
Air Quality Analysis Modeling Report
construction phases, and none of the modeled areas are impacted by sulfur deposition during
construction. None of the predicted nitrogen or sulfur deposition rates exceed the deposition
threshold during Phase 3 production.
In summary, no negative air quality impacts at Class I or sensitive Class II areas are shown
during Phase 3 (production), and only visibility and limited nitrogen deposition impacts are
indicated for the Phase 1 and Phase 2 construction periods. Modeled PMio concentrations for the
24-hr average do not definitely reveal whether or not negative impacts will occur; instead, they
suggest that additional analysis might be necessary to make an assertion of air quality impacts.
All visibility impacts, nitrogen deposition impacts, and potential PM10 (24-hr) impacts in
question are temporary in nature, because they occur during the two construction phases, which
are projected to last a total of 1.5 years for both phases.
As mentioned earlier, these CALPUFF-Cite modeling results provide conservatively high air
quality impacts due to the model's design and intended use as a screening tool.
G-25
DBMS 537
