EMD (Panels 2-Right through 6-Right, PR97-04)
During the five-year permit term covered by this application, mining will continue in the Eastern Mining District.
• Initial development of gateroads in the Eastern Mining District encountered a previously unidentified fault. Conditions
associated with this fault required TCC to redesign the submains and mains; with their new locations as shown on Map
23. Development mining will occur in Gateroads 2-Right through 4-Right in the Eastern Mining District. Longwall
mining will occur in Panels 6-Right through 2-Right in the remainder of the Eastern Mining.. These mining areas are
shown on Map 23.
Longwall Panels 6-Right through 2-Right will involve mining of coal contained in Federal leases COC-54608, C-
081330, and D-052543, and fee coal owned by TCC. Development of Gateroads 4-Right through 2-Right will involve
mining coal from Federal lease COC-54608, and fee coal owned by Twentymile. Development of the Northeast
Submains will involve mining of coal from Federal leases C-081330 and COC-54608.
NMD (Pane112-Right through 16-Right, PR99-OS7
During the five-year permit covered by the application (1998-2003), mining will continue in the Eastern Mining
District (as approved in Permit Revision PR97-04) and progress into the Northern Mining District. Development
mining will continue in Gateroad 11-Right through 18-Right, the Northeast and Northwest Mains, and Longwall Panels
12-Right through 16-Right. The mining area is shown on Map 23.
Mining of Longwall Panels 12-Right through 16-Right will involve mining of coal from Federal lease COC-54608,
State lease CO-3229, and fee coal owned by TCC. Gateroads 11-Right through 18-Right will involve mining coal from
the same leases as described for the longwall panels. In the Northeast Mains, in addition to Federal lease COC-54608,
and State lease CO-3229, coal will be mined from the Myron Walker Trust lease.
• NMD (Pane117-Right through 21-Right, PR03-06)
During 2003-2008, mining will continue in the Northern Mining District. Development mining will continue in
Gateroads 18-Right through 24-Right, the bleeders, the Northwest Mains, and Longwall Panels 17-Right through 22-
Right (partial). The mining area is shown on Map 23.
Mining of Longwall Panels 17-Right through 22-Right will involve mining of coal from State lease CO-3229 and fee
coal owned by TCC. Gateroads 18-Right through 24-Right and the associated bleeders will involve mining coal from
the same leases as described for the longwall panels.
