INSPECTION REPORT '~' p0~ RE~~Sj°
A
v~ o
A
Site: GCC Energyr ,Hesperus Colorado w ~
' • ~~e~
Inspected By: Dion R. May, P.E., Project Engineer ~ ~'• r
•• ° ~~,,
Inspection Date: Quarte~iy Inspection February , 2008 •• F ~~•~•°''~~~'`~
Note: Heavy snows cover the mine site obscuring many of the surface features typically
inspected.
Ponds: Photograph 1 shows the west pond. Both ponds appear to operating properly
but detailed inspection was not possible due to snow Dover. Both ponds should be:
checked for cleaning this spring.
Oraina4e Ditches: Drainage in and around the upper and lower yards are working weN
despite the snow accumulation, see photo 2. All other drainage channels on the site
were inspected and appear to be operating properly but detailed assessment was not
possible due to snow cover.
Except where noised, all drainage features have been constructed and are operating as
stated in the drainage plan submitted to the Division of Minerals and Geology.
Coal Waste Pile: The snow covered top of the waste pile is show in figure 3.
Assessment of the drainage in this.area was not possible due to snow cover. The
design slope for the face of the waste rock pile is 3:1. It is recommended that as some
point this year the; actual slope be surveyed to confirm compliance.
Except for the items mentioned above the fill on the waste pile has been constructed as
specified in the design approved by the Division of Minerals and Geology.
