General instructions regarding seeding and care: Not applicable.
c. Weed control will be standard for the crop selected, and coordinated with the land owner and County weed
and pest control agency.
17 This mix is based upon recommendations by USDA-NRCS (Robert Fuller, Letter of 17 AUG 2000 and Fax of 30
AUG 2000):
For temporary seeding for stabilization and protection of stockpiles: Either use the orchardgrass
and meadow brome if you are going to irrigate the spoil pile. If not, a drought tolerant easily
established mix such as perennial rye (Lolium perenne) with strawberry clover (Trifolium
fragiferum, var. palestine) would be adequate. All seedings should be mulched with approximately
4000 lbs. of weed-free straw crimped into the seedbed with tracked equipment. An alternative is a
temporary mix consisting of sanfoin and slender wheatgrass, based on watering for establishment
(not permanent irrigation)
McStone Aggregates, LLC 15 FEB 2008 ©WASTELINE, INC 2008 PN 5006.1-4(009)
