• The small disturbed area within the Harvey Gap watershed
does have the potential to impact the reservoir outflow
which then supplies this AVF with water for flood
irrigation. No discharge to Harvey Gap is plannnedq
therefore, no impact is predicted. Monitoring of Harvey Gap
at reservoir outflow above and below the mine will be
sufficient for determining any impacts. Therefore, detailed
study of the Colorado River AVF is not necessary to define
possible impacts.
Alluvial Valley Floor - Ephemeral Drainages. Ehhemeral
drainages to Harvey Gap, West Elk Creek, and the Colorado
River form along the Grand Hogback and are tributary to the
major valleys. No deposits are shown on Figure 16 since any
deposits are too small to be mapped. In most cases, no
defined channel is established. The areas are too small to
be used for irrigation practices. Therefore, none of these
drainages are identified as AVF's.
•
•
69 Revised 5/87
