Changes in permitted disturbed and affected area acreages during 2007 included an increase in the
permitted disturbance acreage of 7.7 acres (TR07-60 and MR07-224), and in the permitted affected
acreage of 327.7 acres (PR06-07, TR07-60 and MR07-224). Actual surface disturbance during 2007
matched the increase in permitted disturbance, resulting in a cumulative total for actual surface
disturbance of approximately 498.1 acres. Please refer to the revised maps and text associated with
PR06-07, Addition of NMD Reserves and Modification of Mining Configuration, TR07-60, Thickener
Underflow Pipeline and Borehole, and MR07-224, 6MN Water Transfer pipeline, for specific details.
No backfilling, grading, topsoil replacement, or revegetation occurred during 2007. No reclamation of
previously disturbed areas occurred. There are several areas on the attached "2007 Annual
Reclamation Report Disturbed Acreage" summary that are identified as "Reclaimed". These areas
have previously been regraded and stabilized with vegetation, however, TCC has not pursued bond
release for these areas due to the potential for re-disturbance in conjunction with required access and
site maintenance activities. During 2007, TCC completed noxious weed control spraying for both
active and bond-released areas, consistent with the approved Noxious Weed Control Plan (MR06-206),
and conducted managed livestock grazing activities on the bond-released areas.
Permit approvals during 2007 resulted in an increase in the calculated reclamation liability and surety
coverage of $412,152, to a total of $7,691,763, at year-end, summarized as follows:
TR07-59, Washplant 2 Construction/Modification (+$353,388)
TR06-60, Thickener Underflow Pipeline and Borehole (+$5,007)
MR07-215, Fiber-Optic Borehole (+$442)
MR07-216, Fish Creek Dewatering Modification (+$3,669)
MR07-217, Warehouse Expansion (+$22,937)
MR07-218, 6MN Emergency Escape Hoist (+$7,240)
MR07-219, Temporary Office Trailer (+$1,729)
MR07-220, Pave Parking Area and Construct Helipad (+$1,030)
MR07-222, Washplant Powerline (+$5,850)
MR07-224, 6MN Water Transfer Pipeline (+$7,160)
MR07-225, 18RT Shaft Heater (+$3,700)
Attached are copies of the standard form (CDRMS) Annual Reclamation Report for 2007. If you have
any questions or require further information, please feel free to contact me directly at (970) 870-2712.
Best regards,
Twentymile C~oal~ m y
i~~~~~
Jerry M.
