Red Dirt Gravel Pit <br />T. 2 N. R 82 W. <br />Rehabilitation Reguir•ements <br />I. Pit rehabilitation shall be done in accordance with the following requirements: <br />A.. Benches shall be constructed as shown on the Pit Development drawings to minimize slope height and <br />promote natural vegetation regeneration. <br />B_ The pit Moor shall be constructed as shown on the Pt Development drawings to provide for positive <br />drainage, disperse runoff and protect Forest Road 100 from undue drainage concentrations. <br />C. Upon completion of crushing operation, stockpiled soil overburden shall Ue distributed over the developed <br />area in a uniform mariner.. Tlie area shalt be seeded, mulched and fertilized during the first seeding season <br />following pit expansion and crushing activities. The seeding shall be done in accordance with the <br />following requirements: <br />1. Preparation of seedbed: Cut slopes, fill slopes, embankments and other areas to be seeded, <br />shall be shaped and finished as shown on the drawings.. Where necessary, the area shall be <br />scarified or otherwise worked so that the surface is loose to a depth of at least 1 ". <br />2. Seeding Mix: Seed shall be clean certified seed of at least 90% purity and germination of at <br />least 80%. The seed mixture shall consist of the following grasses in the arnounl specitied~ <br />Suggested seeding rate: ~0-25 Ibs/ac <br />Species Percent of Mix by Weight <br />Big bluegrass (Pacr ctrrrplcr) or Canby bluegrass (Pocr carrbvr) 4 <br />Mountain bromegrass (Bronttr.s mnr~irrcrltts) 40 <br />Blue wildrye (Elynrus glcurctr.s .3.3 <br />Slender wheatgrass (E'lyrnus trrrclrycaulrrs, <br />formerly Agropyrorr h•~crcltycarrhrnt) ?3 <br />Total 100 <br />.3. Fertilizer: shall be a standard commercial grade fertilizer and mulch in the amounts specified <br />shalt be mixed with water to form a slurry and applied under hydraulic pressure at the rates <br />specified below. <br />4. Application Rate: <br />Mixture Component Application Rate <br />Seed mixture ~0-?5 Ibs. / ac. <br />Fertilizer >>0 lbs. / ac. <br />Mulch 400 lbs. / ac. <br />Water 1,450 lbs. / ac. <br />D. Following seeding and rehabilitation, access roads shall be barricaded with oversize rock and other <br />natural materials. Access points into and out of the pit will need to be gated or barricaded to meet health <br />and safety concerns, <br />
