Site Description (cont)
Exhibit B
The lodgepole pine cover blocks most of the sunlight from reach-
ing the ground so little grass grows on the site except in the
old disturbance area where grasses and small pine trees have take
root since the last mining period.
PERMANENT MAN-MADE STRUCTURES
There is one structure within 200 feet of the affected
lands. It is FSR 100 (Red Dirt Road) that runs long the north
side of the mine site. The road lies below the lowest mine floor
elevation so it will not be impacted by mining. There are no
above or below ground communication or power lines, fences,
bridges, wells, pipelines, water storage impoundments, railroad
tracks, cemeteries or communication antennas within 200 feet of
the affected lands/permit area.
WATER RESOURCES
There are no water structures on the site. The closest
stream is Red Dirt Creek that at its closest point is approxi-
mately 2800 feet northeast of the site and 800 feet lower than
the mine floor.
Review of well data on the surrounding areas indicate the
closest water well is located approximately 0.44 mile northeast
of the mine and the water table in this well 20 feet ± below the
ground surface. The water table in this well will be approxi-
mately 30 feet below the floor of the mine. Ground water will
not be encountered on this site and we will not affect the
hydrologic balance of surface or subsurface water in the area.
5
