EXHIBIT D
Mining Plan
Connell Resources, Inc. proposes to mine the Northeast corner of Section 24, Township 6 North,
Range 68 West, Sixth P.M. in Larimer County, Colorado. The site is bordered on the east by
County Road 13 and on the north by State Highway 392. To the south the limits of mining are
bounded by the Cache la Poudre River and the property line on the west.
Sand and gravel will be the primary product produced from the SerFer Project site. The
principal intended use for the sand and gravel is for construction aggregates. Additional
permitted mining operations are located north of the site north of Highway 392 and southeast of
the site east of County Road 13.
Test pits have been dug at the SerFer Project site and it has been verified that there are
commercially marketable sand and gravel deposits on the property. The average depth of the soil
and overburden is 4.5 feet. The average thickness of the aggregate material is 8 feet, and the site
is estimated to contain approximately 410,000 cubic yards of sand and gravel. The overburden
and topsoil will be removed and stockpiled for reclamation.
The permit boundary will encompass approximately 45 acres with approximately 30 acres being
mined. The remaining area will consist of setbacks from roads and the Cache la Poudre River,
utility right-of--ways, and site access roads. Various setbacks from adjacent roads, fences,
adjacent structures, and the Cache la Poudre River will be observed as mining occurs. See
Exhibit C, Mining Plan Map, and the Geotechnical Stability Exhibit for information on the
setbacks and their locations. Items owned by the Applicant located within the proposed permit
boundary, such as roads, fences, concrete irrigation ditches, water wells and associated pumps,
may be removed during the mining process.
Mine Phasing
Connell Resources, Inc. anticipates mining and reclaiming the SerFer Project site in
approximately 3.5 years. Connell anticipates that they will mine approximately 10 to 13 acres
per year or approximately 120,000 cubic yards of material per year. This schedule anticipates
completion of mining and reclamation in 3.5 years for a total of 410,000 cubic yards of material.
However, it is possible that due to market fluctuations, mining will progress slower than
anticipated and additional time could be required for mining and reclamation of the site.
Approximately 30 acres will eventually be mined on the site. Mining will begin on the south end
of the site near the river and will progress in a northerly direction with no more than 15 acres
being exposed at any one time. (See Exhibit C, the Pre-Mining/Mining Plan Map). The SerFer
Project site will be mined over the anticipated span of three and a half years. The processing
plant will be located on the east side of the site, and an access road will be built to allow traffic to
the plant, as shown in Exhibit C.
SerFer Project
DRMS 112 Permit
Page S
