Staff as a matter of internal policy does not included temporary
structures such as those noted in the January 24, 2008 correspondence as structures that need to be
addressed through a TR. Since the concrete blocks are readily movable and have some salvage credit or
value there is no need to include them in any reclamation bonding. If the structures been a poured
concrete, then tasks for demolition would have been required and a TR necessary. This general policy
applies at any permitted site not just the Anderson Pit.
Thank you for checking with the Division on this matter. Staff prefers to be proactive and address
unclear subjects so that issues do not arise at a later date.
If you need additional information, please contact me at the Division of Reclamation, Mining and
Safety, Grand Junction Field Office, 101 S. 3rd St., Suite 301, Grand Junction, Colorado 81501,
telephone no. 970.241.1117.
Sincerely,
.~
G.
