Rec•luntcrliott Opc~ruliutts <br />The Division's Inactive Mined [,ands Program reclaimed the disturbed area on the [3lue Flame Mine <br />beginning in Septemher [ 992 and ending in 1993, using all of the funds from the forfeiture of hond <br />associated with permit C-81-053. The work was conducted by private contractors, and included the <br />ti~llu~a•ing tasks: sealing of portals, removal of structures. backtilling, regrading, importation of <br />t,=[00 cubic yards oftopsoil, spreading the imported topsoil to a thickness ofei~;ht inches, seeding, <br />and planting shrubs. Small depressions were made in the regraded portal area tur moisture retention <br />in order to promote shruh establishment. Shrub transplants were protected from wildlife by spraying <br />the transplants with an animal repellant and then placing a plastic mesh tube: over each transplant. <br />Seed mix and shrub transplants were consistent with the approved reclamation plan. The; site was <br />sprayed tar weeds in 1994 and 1995. The Division had previously initiated the <br />f0,f process far the [31ue Flame Mine in early 2004, but suspended the process ~~fien the diversion <br />
