MINING PLAN
reduce haul distance for the mined material, but that could produce problems for supplying water from the
wash pond to the plant. It is not expected that the wash pond will be relocated. Whether relocation of the
plant is done or not will be at the discretion of the operator. Irrespective of where the plant is located or
relocated, it will not have an influence on the final reclamation of the site.
Timetables of Operation
Upon approval of the amendment, this new plan will begin. It is not known how long it will take
for the plan to be completed. With the recent development occurring in the surrounding area, it is possible
the operation will not last more than a few years. As is always the case with aggregates, the rate of mining
is dependent upon the demands of the market. At this point in time, it appears the market is growing.
Explosives
No explosives will be used in the course of conducting this operation. The material to be mined is
easily extracted with afront-end loader or similar equipment.
Geotechnical Stability
No geotechnical problems are expected to occur with this site. It is highly similar to other sites in
the existing operation and no stability problems with respect to mining the sand have occurred.
Cross-Sections
Because the site will be so uniform at its conclusion, only one cross-section is included. The
location of this section was chosen to provide a good representation of the site along a line where the
greatest deviation from the current topography will be found.
Miller Gravel Pit Amendment (2007) Exhibit D Page 5 of 5
