MINING PL
Exhibit D -AMENDMENT
Mining Plan
STATEMENT OF APPLICABILITY OF THIS PLAN
This exhibit is designed to completely replace all prior mining plans for this site.
DETAILED MINING PLAN
Linkages to Mining Plan Maps in Exhibit C
The maps contained in Exhibit C should be referred to when reviewing this exhibit. Following is a list of
the relevant maps in Exhibit C.
Exhibit C-1 : This map shows the existing conditions at the site, the main features of the current mining
operation, the current topography, and the area of land being added to the permit. It also includes general
information on soils, vegetation, and valuable man-made structures within 200 feet of the affected land.
Exhibit C-2: This map shows the area to be mined in the future and the direction of mining.
Nature of the Deposit to be Mined
The sand and gravel deposit to be mined at this site is a blend of alluvial and aeolian deposits.
Past examination of the deposit showed that the primary alignment of the deposit is SSE to NNE.
Although the deposit is fairly uniform in extent, there does appear to be some possible breaks in the
continuity of the deposit, probably as a result of former erosion by Running Creek when its bed was at a
higher elevation. The depth of the deposit appears to be at least 30 feet and possibly more. The structure
of the deposit is highly laminar and variable in texture. It appears to be mostly composed of alluvial
material, but there is also evidence of aeolian layers probably produced by wind blowing across nearby
alluvial material with some amount of drifting on the sides of the channel at that time. Clay seams can be
found but appear to compose only a small percentage of the entire deposit. As this deposit is composed of
Miller Gravel Pit Amendment (2007) Exhibit D Page 1 of 5
