modeled in SEDCAD, this stand is 50 feet square, although the actual size of the vegetation
above West Fork of Good Spring Creek is considerably larger than this.
Prior to completion of the excavation and construction of the rock check dam, interim sediment
control measures shall completed as directed by the field engineer. These measures shall be in
place throughout construction and shall be sufficient to prevent disturbed area runoff from
leaving the borrow -site. Specifically, a system of internal ditches and/or berms will be used to
direct the drainage towards a temporary silt fence installation.
The rock check dam shall consist of a berm of crushed rock at least 3.5 feet in height with 2H:1 V
sideslopes in the lowest point in the perimeter of the borrow site disturbance. Length of the
check dam shall be at least 30 feet in length as directed by the field engineer. Approximately 27
cubic yards of material are required. Rock used in the check dam shall be minus two inch
material.
Given the nature of the colluvial fan deposit, no topsoil removal is anticipated. All existing
vegetation shall be bladed to the side of the planned borrow area. Upon completion of borrow
activities, the salvaged vegetation shall be redistributed. Disturbed areas shall be seeded with the
access road seed mixture specified in Volume 12, Section 4.03.2 during the first available
growing season. Colowyo is planning on redisturbing the area for the construction of the Section
21 Pond. Upon completion of the pond, Colowyo will seed the area with their permanent mix.
If the area is not redisturbed Colowyo has requested that the area remain with the temporary seed
mix to minimize the disturbance of an area that is already revegetated.
Exh. 7-14P-3 Revision Date: 12/11/07
Revision No.: TR-68
