It addresses only gravel mining at this time.
This pit HAS NOT been granted a Temporary Cessation and it HAS
operated more than 180 days this year. The approved bond amount is
$84,600 covering 95.07 acres ±, and the facility has one mining
stage and one reclamation phase. The bond was evaluated in November
2003 so no bond evaluation is attached this year. Please refer to
the attached 2007 Annual Report Map for the areas discussed in this
text.
We will deal specifically with the Annual Report requirements
as outlined in Rule 1.15 of the Rules and Regulations and those
noted in the annual letter.
(1) No new area was disturbed this year. Approximately 33.83 acres
± that is stripped on the southern end of the mine (yel-
low/brown). The current bond covers 35.00 acres ± of distur-
bance. Mining continued in the partially mined area that is
colored brown, this area covers 24.60 ac. ±. Material mined is
processed at the plant located on the Church Pit that adjoins
this mine on the west.
The two roads built by the Rocky Flats closure project, remain
on the site as noted last year, none of the parties associated
with mine were involved with construction of the roads but
eventually they will be removed by mining. Parts of these
roads lay outside the permit area and D.O.E. and Stoller are
responsible for reclaiming them.
Growth medium is being stockpiled in berms on the mine perime-
ter for use in reclamation. This berm is approximately 17 feet
north of the permit line. In addition, reclamation material is
being stored along the eastern permit line for use when
reclamation begins in that area.
(2) No reclamation was required this year. The site berms will be
revegetated when they are complete. These berms are required by
the county special use permit.
3^ 1 CENTENNIAL DRIVE MILLIKEN, COLORADO 80543
970-352-6057 ~ 970-352-6284 Fax
