The required fee of $257.00 for the renewal of this substitute supply plan have been
submitted (receipt no. 3622837). The original supply plan was approved on September 27, 2004 and
the plan was renewed on June 1, 2006, March 14, 2007 and August 14, 2007.
Plan Operation
The mining plan includes a slurry wall around the perimeter of the site during mining.
The slurry wall has been completed; however, tests have indicated that there is a leak in the
liner. 120th Estates Partners, the owner of the 124th Estates Pit, is currently working to fix the
slurry wall and anticipates that the slurry wall liner will be fixed and approved prior to May 31,
2008.
The mining operations are anticipated to conclude in September 2008. This plan will
replace all lagged depletions to the river that result from the mining operations. Based on the
SWSP request, all such depletions will accrue to the stream by January 31, 2010.
All mining will be accomplished using a dry mining method. The plan includes a rinse
water lagoon and dewatering pond contained within the slurry wall with a combined exposed
surface area of 2 acres. Other consumptive uses at the site include dust control and water
removed in product.
Water pumped from the dewatering pond will be discharged into the Henderson Water
Ski Lake ("Ski Lake"), a reclaimed and unlined gravel pit. Evaporative losses from the Ski Lake
are augmented under division 1 Water Court case no. 82CW393. According to the plan and
based on site observations of the Ski Lake, no significant increase in evaporation will occur from
the lake as a result of discharging water to the Ski Lake.
Water for dust control and augmentation at the site will be provided by nontributary
Office of the State Engineer
1313 Sherman Street, Suite 818 • Denver, CO 80203 • Phone: 303-866-3581 • Fax: 303-866-3589
www.water.state.co.us
