ANNUAL REPORT
Operator: United Companies of Mesa County
Location: Berry Pit
File Number: M-1977-132
Anniversary Date: January 16, 2008
Berry Pit was not very active this report period concerning mining production. Records
indicate between 15 and 16 thousand tons of materials sold. United did do some pit
stripping for future crushing using the overburden and topsoil for reclamation work along
the west and south pit perimeter. Late this fall the south and west perimeter areas were
seeded. Seeding was a combination of drill and hydro seeding. The reclamation-seeded
areas were slpit into three sections & a different concentration of soil amendment was
applied to each area. It will be interesting to monitor the results as time goes by. The
outside slope of the south and west perimeter of the reclamation presents a pleasant visual
appearance from Colo. Hwy. 13.
Weed control continues on a minimum of two weed sprays a year. The weed problem
hasen't gone away but I'd say it is under control. Hopefully the recently seeded areas
will take hold and weeds won't.
Sincerely,

Brent W. Kerr
Resource Manager
