The <br />blasting area is 1«ated in (description of area b~quarter sectionl. Blasting operations m:ty be <br />conducted daily between sunrise and sunset during (description of period by day, month, and <br />year . All roads leading to the blasting area will be bl«ked at least 10 minutes prior to the blast <br />byan individual in radio contatt with the individual responsible for blasting operatioru to prevent <br />access. The blast area will be cleared of all personnel and livest«k prior to the blast. A horn <br />sounded intemnittently prior to the blast will warn of the imrninent blast. The all-cleaz signal will <br />be a horn sounded continuously after the blast. Blasting will not be conducted at times other <br />than announced in this notice except in emergency situations where rain, lightning, or other <br />atmospheric conditioru or operator or public safety concerns warrant unscheduled bLuting as a <br />safety consideration. <br />Ample warning u given before any blast «curs. Any individuak who reside or regularly work R'ithin <br />one-half mile of the blast area(s) are notified of the potential for blasting activities and the meaning of <br />blast warnings. Blasting signs exist on all major access roads leading to blast areas as required by Rule <br />4.02.6. For «casional blasting activities it may be appropriate to place signs on other roads which <br />may provide l«al site access. These signs are placed at least 10 days prior to any blast anti are <br />removed after blasting activities are completed. Prior to any blast, people are cleared from the blast <br />area and immediately adjacent areas where any danger from flyr«k may exist. Roads leading to the <br />blast azea are bl«ked by personnel in radio contact with the individual in charge of blast;r,g <br />operations to prevent access by personnel or Gvest«k Immediatelyprior to the blast a blast warning <br />horn, audible within one-half mile, is sounded intermittently. Following the blast and confittnation <br />by the individual in charge of blasting operations that the blast area is safe to re-enter, anall-c]ear <br />horn is sounded continuously. In addition to the blast warnings and access constrainu described, the <br />following notice is published in a 1«al newspaper of general circulation at least 10 days but not trtore <br />than 20 days prior to initiating any blasting program <br />The distance from potential blasting activities to the nearest structure, dwelling, school, church, or <br />community or institutional building is at least 2,600 feet. So long as this distance is greater than one- <br />half mile (2,640 feet) no blast monitoring u requied. <br />Rule 4.08.2 requires written notification within 30 days prior to blasting to all residents or owners of <br />dwellings or structures within one-half mile of the pemut area which explains how to request a pre_ <br />blast survey.
