• 2.05.3 <br />Run-off from the loadout disturbance is generally contained in two sediment <br />ponds which contain the run-off from the batch weigh loadout and most of <br />the disturbance to the east. Run-off from a transfer tower the disturbance <br />associated with a conveyor support and the disturbed area along the western <br />loadout track will not be contained in sediment ponds. There are eleven <br />SAE areas where run-off will be filtered through a sediment fence before it <br />leaves the permit area. Sample points for the SAEs will be located near the <br />sediment fences. The design forthe alternative sediment control devices are <br />presented in Exhibit 8 pages Exh8- 187 through 189 and the locations are <br />shown on Map 20. <br />During 2002, fourteen exploration holes were drilled to identify the burn line <br />in the B-Seam. Hole locations are shown on Map 9, Hydrologic Monitoring <br />Location Map. The Operator is considering constructing a new B-Seam <br />portal in lieu of accessing the B-Seam through ramps from the D-Seam. An <br />accurate location of the burn line is necessary to determine if a new portal is <br />feasible. The explorations holes will be drilled with a small skid mounted drill. <br />Hole diameters will be 6-inches or less. The average hole depth is 350-feet <br />• with a range in depth from 80 to 510 feet. The holes will be sealed in <br />accordance with Rule 4.07. Run-off from the drill pads and associated light <br />use roads/trails will be contained by sediment ponds B & C. <br />During 2002, one exploration hole KM-3 was drilled to assess the presence <br />of water in the old King Mine workings. The hole location is shown on Map 9, <br />Hydrologic Monitoring Location Map. The hole was sealed in accordance <br />with Rule 4.07. Run-off from the drill pads will be contained by a sediment <br />fence as described above. <br />During 2003, the Operator drilled five exploration holes. Three were drilled <br />along Terror Creek and two were drilled in Stephens Draw. <br />During 2003, the Operator drilled fourteen geotechnical holes and three <br />alluvial wells for the proposed new gob pile. Drilling was from new light use <br />roads so drill pads were not required. <br />During 2004, the Operator did not drill any gob vent holes or exploration <br />holes. <br />.
