§2.05 APPLICATION FOR PERMIT FOR SURFACE OR UNDERGROUND MINING ACTIVITIES -
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR OPERATION AND RECLAMATION PLANS.
5. All materials, parked machinery and other debris was removed from
the West Portal Bench.
Backfilling and Grading
1. The ventilation shaft was completely filled in 2000 and then refilled
after settling in 2002.
2. The mine adits were backfilled during 2000. The method for sealing
these openings are shown in Volume 6A -Final Abandonment tab,
Figure 2.05-6.
3. The West Mine Portal Bench was backfilled with material taken from
the East Roatcap Creek Fill, and then topsoil was applied to the
reclaimed areas that are restored to Approximate Original Contours and
will not be re-disturbed.
4. The West Mine Sedimentation Pond was reclaimed and replaced by
two new sedimentation control ponds, W-1 and W-2 as interim
sedimentation control features.
5. The West Mine Access Road (that portion that crossed East
Roatcap Creek) was reclaimed and returned to Approximate Original
Contours in 2002.
6. The Pre-mining public access road along lower East Roatcap Creek
was restored during the restoration of Approximate Original Contours
along the east side of the creek through the East Roatcap Creek Fill.
7. The BLM's letter dated December 16, 2003, pages 60i and 60ii,
clarifies a number of issues regarding the reclamation work completed
during 2002 as follows:
a. (Item 4) The road leading from the Steven's Gulch road to
the former West Mine portal gate should be left in place as is.
The Operator will maintain this section of road though
11/06/2016 in accordance with BLM right-of-way COC-42656.
b. (Item 8) The upper segment of the historic East Roatcap
Creek road does not need to be reestablished as a road.
c. (Item 9) The Steven's Gulch Allotment Stock Trail does not
need to be returned to a historic pre-mine portal location. The
lower portion of the stock trail needs to be completed to provide
a continuous trail back to the historic East Roatcap Creek road.
TR-43 60-a 01 /04
PPRoV€D
z~zo/o y
