Certified design specifications for this ditch
are presented in the Surface Drainage Appendix, Volume 8.
The existing road has been surfaced in areas with gravel and it will
wntinue to be graveled on an as-needed basis. The type of
equipment, typically pick-up trucks, does not warrant a need for
graveling the entire road surface.
After the site is no longer needed the road will remain to provide
access into the BLM lard. Prior to mine abandonment, CUVCC will
reclaim and stabilize the fan access road to a condition that the
BIM will find acceptable. The stabilization plan for this road will
include relocating available fill material f~tt the road shoulders
to the road cuts and redirec-tirg road surface drainage to flow
toc+*ard the road shoulder. water bars will be utilized to provide
drainage relief for the road surface. The water bars are to be
construcked of available on-site materials to a miniminn height of
one foot aryl are to be located approximately every 200 feet
dependant upon site specific topography. Gravel will remain in
place and the entire road surface will be seeded with the OVM
pernanent seeding mixture. Upon completion of the road
stabilization process, COVCC will request that the road be inspected
by the BIM to verify that appropriate road stabilization and
drainage control measures exist.
Past Topsoil Handling Procedures
Topsoil was salvaged aryl redistributed during construction of the
water line Steven's Gulch water storage tank, the old waste disposal
area, and the truck scales. Construction of the Ororani Valley Mine
water pipeline was conducted with a dozer and backhce. As
construction proceeded, topsoil was salvaged with the dozer and
placed at regular intervals along the length of the trench. As soon
as a length of pipe was installed, the subsoil was replaced and
col[gaacted with the backhoe. Topsoil was r~~G+ributed in a uniform
manrwr and seeded according to Section 2.05.4 (2) (e.) .
• TR 90-10 Revised 08/08/90
64A
