• 3.0 PROJECT PLAN
The Trapper Mine project consists of diverse and interrelated activities designed to efficiently mine coal
and promote reclamation activities.
Section 3.0 discusses the major components of the Trapper Mine project. Emphasis is placed on the
function of each component and its interrelationship with other activities. Also presented is a general
description of the activity and how it complies with applicable existing regulations.
Trapper Mine is a surface: mining operation and does not control or generate any underground workings.
Therefore subsidence will not be an issue with Trapper's operations. However, located west of
Trapper's permit perimeter are underground workings maintained by Empire Energy Corporation.
Effects of their operations have been addressed within the current Empire Energy mining permit.
Section 3.1.8 of this application discusses surface mining near underground workings. Trapper Mine's
mining operations in the Colt and Browning Pit areas (Map M10 series)were within 500 horizontal feet of
the abandoned underground workings. Section 3.1.8 provides evidence that no impact will occur on
these underground workings due to Trapper's surface mining activities.
•
• 3-1
