SECTION 5.0 Topsoil Stockpile Locations
Trapper's approved permit (Section 4.9.2) specifies that CDRMS will be provided with map(s)
illustrating the location of topsoil stockpiles constructed during the previous year and the approximate
locations for stockpiles proposed for construction during the upcoming year (Map 1).
Table 5-1 lists all existing stockpiles with their identification nomenclature, coordinates (based on the
approximate center of the pile), acres, construction date and volume; which is updated annually.
During 2006 seven stockpiles were completed, however one pile was destroyed by the landslide.
Stockpile G06-1 was split in half by the head scarp on the western portion of the slide. It was
subsequently removed by crack sealing operations in the fall of 2006.
During 2006, Trapper constructed six other new stockpiles labeled F06-1, F06-2, G06-2, G06-3, G06-4,
G06-DG and Z06-1. Additionally three existing piles; A94-4, A97-1 and F96-2 were totally depleted for
topsoil replacement or relocation.
At the end of 2006, excluding stockpiles abandoned with the approval of TR-94, and the destroyed G
Pit pile, there are 73 existing topsoil stockpiles at Trapper affecting 185.3 acres and storing
approximately 3,907,710 cubic yards of salvaged topsoil.
The proposed approximate locations for topsoil stockpiles in 2007 may exceed the actual number that
will be constructed. Proposed topsoil stockpiles and the number of piles constructed are dependent
upon the field conditions that are encountered each reclamation season. Additionally, particular piles
may be depleted from or added to in order to maintain a cost effective salvage or replacement program
during a particular year.
GCR 3/07
jDRMS\06TSte~S-0j
