2.04.10 Vegetation Information
(1) Exhibits 49 and 50 delineate plant communities within the Roadside and
North and South Portals permit area. These exhibits were developed by
visual observations associated with a baseline vegetation survey
conducted and described in Appendix 10-1.
(2) Exhibit 49 illustrates the three (3) vegetation study areas proposed for
use in evaluating revegetation success and are more thoroughly
described in Appendix 10-1.
Approval of PR-01 and the subsequent construction of Cameo Refuse
Disposal Area No. 2 (CRDA-2) has resulted in reduction in size of the
Greasewood/Shadscale Vegetation Study Area which originally
encompassed approximately 22 acres. Approximately 6 acres shall
remain unaffected and will provide a reclamation Success standard for
those revegetation areas designated upland Greasewood. The location
of this vegetation study area in relation with CRDA-2 is shown on Exhibit
51, Tab Section 13. Anew grease wood reference area was established
during 1999, see appendix 10-4. This reference area is located northwest
of Cameo Refuse Disposal Area No. 1. The location of the reference
area is presented in appendix 10~ and on Map Exhibit 49, Vegetation
Map.
(3) Since only small amounts of surface disturbance will occur within the
permit area, vegetation communities are only illustrated to the permit
boundary. Exhibit 25, Tab Section 11 illustrates designated vrildl'rfe
habitat within and adjacent to the permit boundary.
10-1 (Rev. 11 /99)
