GENERAL CON7RAC70RS January 10, 2005 Division of Minerals and Geology Departmem. of Natural Resources 1313 Sherman St., Room 215 Denier, CO 80203 RE: Timnath Pit, DMG #M-89-056 # 112C Dear Sir or Madam; In referecee to our mining operation at the Timnath Pit, we have enclosed a map and a check for the annual fee. We are continuing to work in phase lA as shown of the map, listed as Exhibit G2. The sand processing plant remains as previous on top of deposits yet to be mined. The cnuher remains at the site indicated Permanent wetlands have been reclaimed from areas is Phase lA and Phase IC as indicated upon completion of mining. Permanent wetlands are continuing to be developed in the southwest portion of Phase IA We anticipate mining a portion of Phase IB from south to north during 2005. Backfill in this area wiU depend on mining progress, All wetlands, whether permanerrt or temporary, have been topsoiled and reseeded as reclamatiolf progressed Some willow trees, juniper trees, and sumac have been planted depending upon applicable hydrologic regions. Additional plantings will be installed in the Spring of2005. Groundwater monitoring wells are in place up gradient of the property as shown on the attached map, Exhibit C-3. Quarterly reports are attached, Exhibit Cam, for the years 2002, 2003, and 2004. Note that the groundwater elevations for the first quarter of 2004 are abnormally low due to adjacent mining and pumping in Phase IC. Ground water levels rapidly recovered by the second quarter of 2004 upon cessation of pumping and completion on backfilling in Phase 1C.
