(Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID # M-1987-078
INSPECTION DATE 10/25/2007
OBSERVATIONS
INSPECTOR'S INITIALS DEZ
This inspection of Permit Number M-1987-078 (Lamar Industrial Park Pit) was conducted by Deb E. Zack of the DRMS as part
of the Division's routine monitoring protocol. City of Lamar representative Pat Mason was available for this inspection. The pit is
located within the city limits of Lamar, CO and currently consists of approximately 7.6 acres, of which approximately 5 appear to
have been disturbed.
The mine entrance sign and permit boundaries were all clearly marked.
The only issue of note for this site was that Tamarisk were observed during this inspection throughout the center of the site.
During the inspection the operator committed verbally to excavating and/or treating these plants (see photo 2). The operator
was reminded that this site will not be released if Tamarisk is found on site, and shall, therefore, be removed or treated
adequately prior tc financial warranty release. As a result of this inspection action has been taken by the City of Lamar, and
proof in the form of photos of the removal and grading of the site has been received by the Division. This information has gone
into the official file held by the Division and is now a part of the permanent record. Therefore, no outstanding problems are
noted in this report. The Division appreciates the timely execution of this action taken by the city.
All other activities and completed work at the time of inspection appeared to follow the guidelines and regulations set forth by
the state and in the mining and reclamation plans for the pit. At the time of this inspection there appeared to be no long-term
(greater than 72 hours) water retention.
Responses to this inspection report should be directed to Deb E. Zack at the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety,
Denver Office, 1313 Sherman Street, Room 215, Denver, Colorado 80203, phone number 303-866-4179.
I& E Contact Address cc:
^ CE
NAME Mr. Wilev Work and Mr. Pat Mason ^ BL
OPERATOR City of Lamar ^ FS
STREET 102 East Parmenter ^ HW
CITY/STATE/ZIP Lamar.
