III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE
Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made
during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection

This was a partial inspection conducted by Kent Gorham of the Colorado Division of
Reclamation, Mining, and Safety (Division). This mine is in permanent cessation and
reclamation of most areas is complete. Ground conditions on this day were snow covered
and the weather was mild.
Roads
The gate was found locked upon arrival. The mine access road was snow-covered and
muddy due to melting snow. Although surface conditions were slick, road subbase appeared
to still be frozen, minimizing rutting due to vehicle travel. No significant runoff was occurring
due to the snowmelt.
Fish and Wildlife
No evidence of grazing by elk or domestic cattle was observed on the reclaimed area.
Reveaetation
Shrub transplants continue to do well with minimal losses. Ponderosa and junipers seem to
be fairing the best and many are approaching 36-40 inches in height.
