Equipment includes <br /> locomotives, side-dump ore cars, jackleg drills, overcast <br /> loaders, slusher hoists, load-haul-dump units, and mobile, rubber <br /> tired hydraulic jumbo drills. <br /> Fresh air is heated and pushed by fans into the mine at <br /> No. 7 shaft and passed through the haulage drifts, up and through <br /> the slusher drifts and exits the mine through a series of venti- <br /> lation drifts and raises with exhaust fans. The crusher area <br /> vent raise extends from the 600 Level underground crusher to the <br /> surface. <br /> 2. 6 CRUSHING AND MILLING <br /> Crushing and milling facilities are located at the main <br /> • Climax sry._te (5) , the Storke level (5) and underground. Primary <br /> crushers are situated on the surface at the main Climax site and <br /> primary gyratory crushers are located on the surface at Storke <br /> Level and underground on the 600 Level. Secondary crushing is by <br /> standard cone crushers. Tertiary crushing is by shorthead cone <br /> crushers. All fine ore is then conveyed to the mill fine ore bin <br /> to complete milling processes of primary grinding in ball mills, <br /> primary concentration by flotation, cleaner concentration and <br /> then filtering, drying and packaging. Most of the product is <br /> shipped to Climax reduction plants in Langeloth, Pennsylvania; <br /> Rotterdam, The Nederlands; and other foreign plants. By-products <br /> include tungsten, tin and pyrite concentrates. Tailing from the <br /> mill is delivered by gravity to three tailing -ponds for deposition. <br /> 2-10 <br />
