I
will answer all your questions in the order presented in your adequacy review letter dated
November 19, 2007. I will start with:
Rule 6.4.4 Exhibit D- Mining Plan
1. The portable bridge will be a. Rail Road Flat Car (RRFC) Bridge. Please see figure 1.
Figure 1 is also submitted with this letter as a drawing labeled Exhibit "C" mining
Plan dated November X7, 2007.
a. The structure is made of a used railroad flat car. This type of bridge structure is
commonly used in the mining industry. They can carry the superimposed loads
required in the mining industry and they can be relocated when they are needed
elsewhere. The concrete foundations (abutments) are pre-fabricated (pre-cast.
concrete) made off site and haul to the site for erection (installation). The pre-cast
abutments can be removed from the site after the bridge is moved and re-used at
the new location. The weight load limit will be 50 tons or approximately 2.5 times
greater than a normal loaded truck. The bridge will have a wooden deck and be
capable of providing traction in all weather conditions. A pipe safety railing will
also be on both sides of the bridge to keep traffic from slipping into the ditch.
Further details are shown on the drawing enclosed with this adequacy package.
The bridge is temporary and wilt be used during mining and reclamation and will
be removed during reclamation. The bridge is not to remain on site for post
mining use; it will be used elsewhere on another project. Please see FIGURE 2
for an example of a typical RRFC BRIDGE.
