Introduction <br />This document is the decision package prepared by the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining <br />and Safety (the Division) for the Munger Canyon Mine, a federal coal mine located in Garfield <br />County. This document includes: 1) the proposed decision to approve the permit renewal <br />application; 2) a summary which includes a description of the history of the review of the permit <br />application, a description of the environment affected by the mining operation and a description of <br />the mining and reclamation plan; and 3) the written findings of compliance the Division has made as <br />required by the Colorado Surface Coal Mining Reclamation Act. Detailed information concerning <br />the findings of compliance can be found in the Regulations of the Colorado Mined Land <br />Reclamation Board for Coal Mining. <br />The Division has received an application for a permit renewal (RN-OS) to conduct surface coal <br />mining and reclamation operations at the Munger Canyon Mine. The application was submitted by <br />CAM Mining LLC (CAM), the operator and permittee. The mine is located on private and federal <br />lands within Garfield County, Colorado. A reclaimed rail loadout facility near Loma, in Mesa <br />County, Colorado is also included as a part of the Munger Canyon Mine permit. A summarized legal <br />description of the lands included within the permit area is provided below. A more detailed legal <br />description is included on appendix pages A-5 and A-6 of the permit application package. <br />Mine Area, Garfield County <br />Township 7 South, Range 102 West of the 6th Principal Meridian• <br />Section 27: <br />S/2, S/2N/2 <br />Section 28: <br />S/2, E/2NE/4, S W/4NE/4, SE/4NW/4, LOTS 1-5 <br />Section 29: <br />Portions of lots 11-13 (BLM Right of Way) <br />Section 29: <br />A strip of land 60.00 feet in width, 30.00 feet each side of a described centerline (Private <br />Land Lease). Refer to permit application package for centerline description. <br />Loma Loadout, Mesa County <br />An irregularly shaped tract of land located in portions of Section 34, T2N, R3 W, and portions of <br />Section 3, T1N, R3 W, both of the Ute Meridian. Refer to permit application for detailed tract <br />description. <br />
