EXHIBIT I and J
SOILS AND VEGETATION
The information in this section was obtained from the
natural Resources Conservation Service web page. This site is in
an area where the general surrounding uses are commercial devel-
opment or developed water storage. This is the last agricultural
property in the area but much of it has been use for equipment
storage, housing and has a commercial greenhouse covering the
north end. The soils information from the NRCS is very thorough
but the vegetation information is sparse. We have supplemented
the following information on vegetation from site visits and our
observations.
Vegetation information
The vegetation map shows the areas discussed in the follow-
ing text. As noted in the mining plan this site is covered by
farm yard, equipment storage, buildings and commercial areas so
there is little vegetation on the site at this time. This area
cover 8.78 acres ± of the total area. The remaining 4.90 acres ±
have a space cover of weeds and grass that indicate in the past
that it has been disturbed by the landowners but has to current
use. For this reason there is no clear vegetation background
that can be used to compare the success of reclamation with. The
baseline vegetation information found in NRCS publications do not
apply to this site because of past disturbances.
21
