III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE
Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made
during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection
and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action.
This was a complete inspection of the Arness McGriffin Mine conducted by Tom Kaldenbach of the
Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety. The ground dry.
The permit for this mine was revoked more than 10 years ago. The site was reclaimed by DRMS's
IML program in April 1990. Selected photos taken during the inspection are attached at the end of this
report. The site was partially covered with snow.
Roads
The post and cable guard rail installed by CDRMS next to the road is in good shape. The road into the
site remains severely gullied and is passable only by 4-wheel drive.
General Mine Plan Compliance
No problems were evident at the Arness McGriffin site. No changes were evident on the site compared
to the last complete inspection in September 2007.
Reclamation Success
The former portal bench area has fairly good grass cover.
