The project appears to be a straight forward operation to extract construction materials. A review of <br />the proposed project has only a few minor clarifications and issues to address. <br />1) Please supply proof of publication as soon as possible per rule 1.6.2(1)(d). <br />2) In the Mine Plan please clarify in Exhibit A that only 9.11 acres will be the maximum disturbance. <br />3) Please state in the Mine Plan the estimated depth to which soil, suitable as plant growth medium, will be <br />salvaged for use in the reclamation process per rule 6.3.3(b). <br />4) Please state in the Mine Plan the thickness of overburden or quantity of waste rock, if any, to be removed to <br />reach the deposit per rule 6.3.3(c). <br />5) In the Mine Plan specify the thickness of the deposit to be mined per rule 6.3.3(d). <br />6) In the Mine Plan please specify the dimensions of any existing roads that require significant upgrades or <br />proposed roads that will be used for the mining operation per rule 6.3.3(g). <br />7) In the Reclamation Plan please explain how the seedbed will be prepared to eliminate compacted conditions <br />(e.g., plowed, chiseled, disced) per rule 6.3.4(c)(ii). <br />8) Please provide a product data sheet for "Regreen 404" as described in the in the seed mix. Also provide <br />application rate and cost per acre. <br />This is a preliminary review. Other issues may arise from other agency comments, a site inspection and as more <br />information is supplied. The decision date for this application has been set for December 28, 2007 provided all <br />issues have been addressed.
