Fall 2007 Subsidence and Geologic Field Observations
Box Canvon. Apache Rocks, and South of Divide Mining Areas
• Observations made during the fall 2007 (Figure l7) show that considerable healing of these
~•racks has occw-md. In fact, the location of the cracks would not have been discernable without
retcrencing their position from the 2000 photograph (Figure D-3).

-These particular cracks are thought to be related to either differential settlement of the graded
material and; or to subsidence. At this time it is still unclear which potential explanation is the
most accurate or probable. It vas previously estimated that the probability of the cracks being
settlement related versus subsidence related was about ~0 percent. Observations made during
this most recent site visit have not changed that pmhahility.
v ~, ~ ~ ~_~.; .
_ M~ . ,- ~ .
r 4 ~ .+ ' J~ yH ~
`~ . iwel~lE--. ~:FJi1, .d'.
