Exemption #1 located at the Mine Timber Storage Are:. You have <br />pointed out that bec>suse the drtlinabe from t}zi.s area is not <br />diverted to the settling ponds, a small area e;:enrption is needed. <br />The .area in question consists of an area of approximately U.36 <br />acres. All runoff wager front this area will be directed throubh <br />the rock filter spillwTay which has been constr;rct.ed for this <br />purpose. A berm is ir, place to force any drainage from this area <br />to flow throubh the rock filter spi..ll.way. <br />In the unlikely event that water should ever flow through this rock <br />filter spillway, representative samples shall be taken ar,d shall be <br />checked for settleable solids of less than 0.5 ml/L. However; be <br />advised, storm events of this magnitude are few and far between. <br />Don May, P.E., is currently involved in designing all applicable <br />drainages, etc., for this rhea.
