s~ <br />PUBLIC NOTICE <br />NATIONAL KING COAL, LLC, 4424 County Road 120, Hesperus, Colorado <br />81326, phone (970) 385-4528, has filed an application for a permit <br />renewal of a valid existing permit for the King Coal Mine (permit C-81-035) <br />with the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining 8v Safety. The area of <br />the subject permit is located in portions of Sections 31 8a 32; T35N, R 11 W, <br />N.M.P.M. Sections 5 8v 6; T34N, R11W, N.M.P.M., and Sections 35 8v 36; <br />T35N, R12W, N.M.P.M. La Plata County, Colorado. The surface of the <br />area to be mined is owned by Huntington Ranches, LLC, Thomas Lee <br />Compton Revocable Trust, State of Colorado, B.L.M., and Crawford <br />Ranches. The permit area is located on the north and south sides Hay <br />Gulch, approximately 4.5 miles southwest of Hesperus, as identified on <br />U.S.G.S. 7.5-minute quadrangles of Thompson Park, Hesperus, Mormon <br />Reservoir, and Kline. Underground mining methods are in use. The <br />proposed land use at the completion of mining is rangeland. <br />A copy of the application is available for public review at the La Plata <br />County Clerk and Recorder's Office, La Plata County Courthouse, 1060 <br />Second Avenue, Durango, CO 81302, and at the Colorado Division of <br />Minerals and Geology, 1313 Sherman St., Room 215, Denver, Colorado <br />80203, phone (303) 866-3567. Anyone with a valid interest may submit <br />written comments or objections within 30 days of the last publication of <br />this notice. All comments, objections, and requests must be submitted in <br />writing to the Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology at the above <br />address. Published in The Durango Herald, , 2007. <br />
