MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: 1~92~-~R1
INSPECTION DATE: 1.4/~9/n~ INSPECTOR SINITIALS: -K.A'L
OBSERVATIONS
1. This inspection was performed as part of the Division of Reclamation, Mining, and Safety's four-year
monitoring program. Present at the inspection were Kate Pickford, DRMS, and Sam Keeling, operator.
Weather at the time of the inspection was clear, calm, and approximately 55 degrees.
2. A sign is posted at the entrance to the site and the boundaries are easily identifiable in the field.
Disturbance at the site consists of a pit with vertical highwalls, approximately. l 5 feet deep, stockpiles of
material, and an area outside the pit where equipment is stored. Approximately half of the area
proposed to be mined has been excavated. .
3. Some containers of used motor oil were present at the site, adjacent to the pit. Mr. Keeling stated that
the land owner places these containers at the site and he attempts to put the oil into a 55-gallon drum.
Mr. Keeling was advised that the containers require secondary containment to contain the oil in the
event that any of the containers leak. Placement of the containers into a stock tank was suggested.
Mr. Keeling stated he had an extra tank that he would bring to the site for this purpose. Therefore the
presence of these containers of oil is not cited as a problem on this report.
4. No problems were observed during this inspection and all activities at the site appear to fall under the
guidelines specified in the approved permit. A bond calculation will be conducted separately to
determine whether the current bond amount of $10,000.00 is adequate to cover reclamation costs at
the site. If the new calculation indicates that further bond is required, the operator will be notified of the
bond increase amount.
18~ E Contact Address Cc: ^ CE
^ BL
NAME: Sam Keeling ^ FS
^ HW
OPERATOR: Charles Bud KeeLit~g ^ HMWMD (CH)
STREET: P C~ Bex '~61 ^ WQCD (CH)
CITY/STATE/ZIP: I ry yPtc~ rn £31055 ^ Other:
