Individual Years not used for annual statistics if any month in that year has more than 5 days <br />missing. <br />SOURCE: <br />NOTES: <br />2.4 Economic Geology <br />Uranium ore is hosted in a thin band of brittle garnet biotite gneiss and quartzite of the Schwartz Trend. <br />The generalized geologic map of the site (Figure 3) shows that the deposit is generally bounded by a <br />hornblende gneiss to the north and a mica schist to the south. The area is characterized by extensive <br />vertical fracturing, dominated by the Illinois and the Rogers fault systems. Primary mineralization occurs <br />in the brecciated Precambrian-age Schwartz Trend rocks. The deposit is essentially limited to Schwartz <br />Trend rocks; veins truncate within 20-30 feet in the mica schist. Dominant ore minerals include <br />pitchblende (uranium oxide) and coffinite (uranium sulfate). <br />Whetstone Associates • <br />4109B.071116 <br />
